Manchester United have had a lackluster start to the 2024-25 season, losing on penalties to Manchester City in the Community Shield and suffering two defeats in their first three Premier League matches. They began with a 1-0 win over Fulham but have since fallen to Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool, leaving them 14th in the table with just three points.

Despite the team's struggles, Kobbie Mainoo has been a standout performer. The 19-year-old has started all four matches and boasts the highest dribble success rate in Europe’s top five leagues this season at 83.3%. Having made 39 appearances for Manchester United, scoring five goals and adding one assist, Mainoo is anticipated to be in the starting lineup when they face Southampton on September 14.

Currently, Mainoo's focus is on international duty with England, as he prepares for UEFA Nations League matches against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. After starting in the Euro 2024 final against Spain, he will be a key consideration for interim head coach Lee Carsley in the upcoming fixtures.
