Two Premier League sides in the top half of the table will clash at Craven Cottage, with Fulham welcoming Brighton.
After a heavy 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham bounced back with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Tom Cairney scored a brilliant equalizer, but was later sent off for a late challenge. Despite being down to 10 men, Fulham held firm and earned a point. Marco Silva felt his side "deserved to win," leaving them 10th in the Premier League, level on points with three other teams and just four behind Brighton in 4th.
Fulham have a strong record against Brighton, going unbeaten in their last eight Premier League meetings (4 wins, 4 draws), including two recent home wins by a 5-1 aggregate score. However, their recent form in midweek fixtures has been poor, with only one win in their last six such matches.
Brighton, after back-to-back 2-1 wins over Manchester City and Bournemouth, were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-placed Southampton. Kaoru Mitoma’s opener was canceled out by Flynn Downes, and a potential winner from Cameron Archer was ruled out by VAR. Brighton’s manager, Fabian Hurzeler, admitted they "only deserved a draw" after failing to convert their many chances.
Brighton will now travel to Craven Cottage, where they have not won in their last four visits (D1 L3), and have failed to win any of their last nine away games in London.
