Roma Women and Galatasaray Women will meet in a Women's Champions League match where only pride is at stake.

Roma have suffered a second consecutive group-stage exit in the UWCL, as a strong start was followed by a series of disappointing results. The Italian champions began the main draw with wins over Wolfsburg and Galatasaray, but subsequent losses to record European champions Lyon—both home and away—saw their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages dashed.

With their quarter-final ambitions on the line, Roma traveled to Germany last week needing at least a draw to keep their chances alive. Although Valentina Giacinti’s equalizer briefly gave them hope, Wolfsburg responded with five unanswered goals, sealing a crushing 6-1 defeat for Roma and ending their qualification hopes.

On the other hand, Galatasaray have made history this season by becoming the first Turkish team to reach the UWCL group stage. However, their campaign has been tough, as they are still without a point after five losses in the group stage. The Turkish side have struggled defensively, conceding 25 goals, including six in a heavy defeat to Lyon last week.

Galatasaray's only goal in the group stage came in their 6-1 loss to Roma in October. Coach Metin Ulgen will be hoping for a final opportunity to earn a point in the competition, but it won’t be easy, as they have lost five of their last six away matches, including a 2-1 defeat to ALG Spor in their league game on Saturday.
